Do you remember that we bought Mexican Jumping beans last August? Well, I had been giving them water about once a month for awhile, and in the middle of May, I checked to see if any were still alive. 8 out of the 10 beans were definitely dead already, but I couldn't hear anything inside when I shook the other two, so I wasn't sure.
Then on the 25th, I noticed that one had hatched! I was completely shocked. :-o
I read on a couple of websites that they only live a few days, but this moth lived until June 16, so over 3 weeks!
That was really interesting to watch!
We went to Shinjuku Gyoen Garden with my parents. I was surprised that this large park is right in the middle of Tokyo. When we went inside, it's so quiet that nobody would have thought that this is Tokyo. But tall buildings in the distance remind us that this is Tokyo.
And one old man exercised in the park, so I took a video, sorry. :-P
We had a fun time with Gaku's parents today! The park was really nice, but it was too hot today. :-(
Afterwards we went to Jonathan's Restaurant for lunch and we gave Gaku's father his Father's Day present. (A little stuffed animal dog we bought at Build-A-Bear.) He liked it!
After we talked for a couple of hours we said Goodbye at the train station. :-(
勤めている会社が経営の危機に瀕し、遊んでいる場合ではないのですが、清水公園とビルド・ア・ベアで遊んできました。
まー仕事と家庭は別ですから。
My company is having financial difficulties, so now is not the time to have fun, but we had a fun time at Shimizu Park and Build-a-bear. I think that I shouldn't think about work at home too much.
Today we went to Shimizu Park near our house, and the flower section was discounted from $7.80 to $5 because this weekend they are having a Chiba Prefecture Campaign, so we got lucky!
The flowers were really pretty, and then afterwards we watched the mini Ninja Warrior area (SASUKE), and
one boy fell in while Gaku was taking a video. :-P
Afterwards we went to Build-A-Bear. It took us about 30 minutes to decide which stuffed animals to make. :-P
Gaku chose the "Tabby Kitty", and I picked the "Panda".
First we pushed the pedal of the stuffing machine, while the worker moved the animal around to stuff it.
And then we put a little red heart inside after rubbing it and making a wish. :-P And then she sewed it up.
Then we gave it an "air bath," and picked out the clothes and accessories.
After that we sat down at a computer and picked out a name and gender, and then filled in our information, and printed out a birth certificate!
It was expensive, but we had a fun time! (We probably won't go back though.) :-P
Gaku named his "Kabo", and mine is "Boki." :-D
After Build-A-Bear we went to the waffle cafe and had some dessert, and then we went home. :-)
We ordered a sofa at the end of last month, and it arrived on Sunday!!
We were worried about ordering a couch online, but it looks great!
When it arrived, it was too big to fit through the door, so we had to bring it in through the window. :-P
We tried shopping for one at a store nearby, but they only had 8 to choose from. :-(
But this one is perfect, we're happy. :-D
近くの温泉のレストランで、ビンゴがあるとのことで、参加してきました。サラは、はやくビンゴになったので、シャンプーセットをゲット。自分は、上がるのが遅かったので、参加賞みたいな小さなグミをもらってきました。
We joined a BINGO game at a restaurant in a hot spring building near our house. Sarah won BINGO earlier and got a shampoo set. I won BINGO almost last and then I got a small fruit-snack pack like a prize for participation.
Before we went to Bingo, we went to an arcade and played a little bowling game, it was fun!
At one of the toy claw machines, they had some ugly alive bugs in little cages to win, I had never seen that before!
(We didn't play it.) :-P
Then we went to the hot springs building at 1 p.m., but it cost $7 each just to get INTO the building!
So luckily, we found a $5 coupon for the restaurant a week ago, so we were glad!
Gaku had soba noodles, and I had an ice-cream treat. :-P
Bingo started at 2 p.m., and they passed out the cards. They had a lot of coupon prizes, some stuffed animals, alcohol, shampoo/conditioner sets, and snacks. :-P It was a fun time!
On Saturday we went to the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum to see Gaku's mother's new painting with his parents and sister. And then afterwards, we had lunch at Jonathan's. We had a fun time! o(^_^)o
On our way back home we ate some snacks at a cafe, and then took a nap at home and watched a Sumo tournament later. :-D
