I woke up at 5 a.m. to watch the game, but after seeing Mexico's team get a home-run right away in the first inning, I went back to bed. (-_-)
I watched the ending, but that was it.
Mexico had scored a total of 5 points in the 1st inning, and another one in the 2nd, bringing it to 6.
Japan scored nothing, ZERO, the whole game. I'm totally disappointed, this has been Japan's worst team in the 4 years I've watched it.
Japan had better pull it together next year. (T_T)
I'd like to see Chinese Taipei win, but I wouldn't hold my breath, that's the only other team I've watched so far that I didn't see spitting all over the field like a bunch of rabid camels.
Well, this ends my Little League: Japan Team coverage for 2009, 'til next year!

Today at 2 p.m. in Pennsylvania was Japan's game against Venezuela.
I didn't wake up at 3 a.m. to watch the game though. :-x
So I checked the results when I woke up, and boy was I relieved!
I watched the game this evening.
.
Japan and Venezuela were tied with 4 points, going into the bottom of the 6th, Japan batting. With 2 outs, Toshinori Wakai got hit on his arm, walked to first base. Naoto Ogura up to bat, hits the ball out to second base, 2nd basemen misses it, center field throws it over to 3rd base to try to get out Wakai, but basemen misses it, Wakai makes his run for home base, scoring the winning point to advance Japan into the International Semifinals. (^_^;;
(Here's a video of the winning play:)
Japan's next game is Wednesday, 4 p.m. in Pennsylvania. I'll get up early to watch it. :-)
.
This is absolutely my favorite player on the team, the announcers said he is the smallest boy in the tournament:
^^ Isn't he adorable?! \(^o^)/
Japan lost against Curacao today, 11 - 12. :-(
Japan had a bad pitcher today, and the coach didn't put a new pitcher in until late in the game, I have no idea why.
Now, I know that Japan made a lot of fumbles, and had a lot of bad pitches, but there was definitely some cheating going on with the home umpire.
For example, in the 5th inning, Yuta Omoe was up to bat, and got hit right on the elbow, (which in a normal game, means he can go on to the first base), but of course in Japan's case, the home plate umpire calls it a foul?!?!?!
Now I'm not saying that the kid would have had a chance to ever get around to homeplate or not, but still...
Here's a video of it, and a picture of the umpire's face afterward:
(And a note to UMPIRE MICHAEL T. MARTIN: GET SOME GLASSES.)
Surprisingly, the evil umpire said he was safe, but the other umpires were discussing whether he was safe or out. (I would have been really mad if they didn't let him have his point.) Here's a video of that: But I love this one boy, Motoki Takashima, when he got his home run he did the cutest arm motions. :-D
So now Japan will face Venezuela tomorrow, and if Japan wins, they move on, and if Venezuela loses, they are OUT of the competition. (X_X)
GO JAPAN!!

It's Little League time again!! :-D
Japan's team this year is from Chiba, how exciting!
The first game was against Saudi Arabia, and Japan won 5 - 2.
I was going to watch it from my parents' webcam, but ESPN has it online to watch, sugoi ne! (^_^)
I had to take a screen shot when one of the little Japanese kids got on base with the big "kid" from Saudi Arabia. :-P

The light-bulb in our kitchen light burned out the other day, and when Gaku went to change it, he noticed it was all burned around the edge of the light-bulb socket. A little dangerous!
So we bought a new one online. We found a green one since there are green tiles in the kitchen. \(^o^)/
My parents sent me some windsocks for an early birthday present, so I can use them during the next few months!
They sent a sunflower windsock awhile ago, and it goes good on the little tree outside! Thanks for my presents you two! o(^_^)o
